How to Access Legal Help
Call or Apply Online
Most legal aid organizations require an intake call or online application. Contact them early - many have waitlists. Explain your situation clearly to get the most relevant help.
Self-Help Resources
Michigan Legal Help (michiganlegalhelp.org) offers free guides and forms you can complete yourself for common civil legal issues.
Income Eligibility
Most free legal aid has income eligibility requirements (typically 125–200% of the federal poverty level). Call to ask - they can often still direct you to other help if you don't qualify.
